New Mix
As usual, I had a little change of
plan this week, and instead of putting up one of the mixes recorded
at the end of last year I decided that I would record a new mix
exclusively for the site. Still contains a few bits from last year
and beyond, but also a few more recent tracks such as Alix Alverez's
collaboration with Nate James on 'not to mention' and the amazing
'way back when' from Sir Piers' upcoming album. There's a few surprises
in there, including a Simply Red track, don't worry, I haven't gone
all middle-aged woman on you, it's actually the remix from Grant
Nelson and I couldn't bring myself to use the vocal mix, I used
the dub, which i'm sure you'll agree is actually a mighty fine piece
of song-age. There's also a couple of cheeky remixes from the ever
reliable groove assassin hidden in there for good measure, so head
on over to the mix page and check it
out.
The other mixes I was intending to
go onto the site have actually been sent over to the big shiny offices
of sunsoundlive. There's
actually three fairly recent mixes that will be appearing on there
from myself, one standard mix with you usual RDA of soulful beats,
another was a little experiment for me, taking the music into a
slightly deeper and tougher direction, and the last is a rather
superb collection of tracks featuring Monique Bingham. I'll be putting
together another mix featuring a big name diva from the house scene
pretty soon, so keep you ears peeled for that one.
Still haven't got round to updating
the look of the site, but i'm sure you won't mind putting up with
the current look for the time being.
Bye for now.

Charts
and new things on the horizon
After a rather slow 2007, things
are set to pick up a bit in 2008. The lack of new mixes hasn't gone
unnoticed, in fact there are quite a few mixes that have been put
together, but due to time commitments on other projects never found
their way to the site. Rest assured though, they will all appear
very soon. The site is going through a bit of a facelift and tummy
tuck, although I will endeavor to keep things moving along while
I work away in the background on all things new and shiny.
I don't have a definite date for
when the new-look site will appear, but as soon as I do I will let
you know. For now all Ic an say is it will be within the next 2-3
months. Until then I have updated the chart to represent my tunes
of the moment, and a new (albeit recorded last year) mix will be
appearing in the next few days.
Bye for now.

Charts
and a new date
With the miami winter music conference
well and truely behind us now the house music buying public are
reaping the rewards with a glut of great new music hitting our earholes.
To acknowledge this the april chart sees 14 new tracks. Top of the
lot is the new outing from Rain People (AKA Aaron Ross, Snake Dogg
and Patrick Kenmore) entitled 'Make it Better' with the vocals of
Alex Mills. Typical production from Aaron and co with sweet vocals
making it an instant soulful house hit. The voclas drop toward the
end and the track takes an nice instrumental turn ideal of a bit
of acapella and mid-set sampling trickery.
April also sees the first outing
for me this year. Not just myself but also Hemal Kuntawala, making
this a bit of a sunsoundlive event. We're playing as guests at MuMu
in maidstone on the 27th of the month with Ben Hooper. More details
will follow real soon, keep an eye out, also there will be plenty
of snaps available on the MuMu page after the event.
Bye for now.
